Crisp recognized as Best Tech Place to Work in Leeds

The award recognizes the company’s innovative approach to talent development.

Crisp, the leading provider of Real-time Risk Intelligence, has won the prestigious Best Tech Place to Work award at the annual Leeds Digital Festival Awards.

The Awards celebrate the individuals and organizations that contribute to the growth and success of the digital and tech industry in Leeds and the wider city region. Home to one of the fastest-growing tech sectors in the UK, Damian Collins, the Minister for Tech and the Digital Economy, this month said “the sheer ingenuity of the Leeds’ tech sector is a force to behold.”

Announced in front of a sell-out crowd at the city’s Belgrave Music Hall, the judges chose Crisp as the winner of the keenly-contested award from a number of prominent businesses with outstanding commitment to supporting and developing their staff.

The company’s shared vision of helping to create a digital world that is safe for everyone has led it to develop a world-class team that takes pride in working for an organization that has made such a positive impact for billions of daily internet users.

The decision to recognize Crisp for this award was based on its innovative approach to recruiting inclusively, promoting and protecting mental and physical health, and an emphasis on personal and professional development.

Counting employees from more than 30 nationalities, speaking more than 40 languages, Crisp has successfully implemented strategies to develop individuals from within and outside of the traditional tech pathway, through working with ex-armed forces and emergency services personnel to utilize their unique skills in this challenging arena, as well as developing an apprenticeship program that offers retraining opportunities.

Crisp also stood out for its investment in the psychological safety and wellbeing of its team, which is of paramount importance because of the work they do to contribute to the safe, daily online experience of more than two billion users, including over 450m children.

Crisp was recently acquired by Kroll, the leading independent provider of risk and financial advisory solutions. Joining Kroll has given Crisp team members based in Leeds and abroad an even larger network from which to deliver on the company’s client promise of fast, actionable risk intelligence, 24/7/365. It also has created new career opportunities and benefits for staff, who have nearly doubled since last year to a headcount of 274.
